Why Did I Receive a Credit Memo?

Last Update: July 16, 2026

A credit memo is an official document showing that a credit has been applied to your subscription.

Please note that receiving a credit memo does not always result in a direct refund to your payment method. It is typically issued either to confirm a processed refund or to cancel an unpaid invoice so you no longer owe a balance.

Please review the two scenarios below to determine why you received a credit memo and what steps you should take next:

Your subscription was canceled and refunded

In this instance, the credit memo serves as official confirmation of your refund and reflects the exact amount returned to your original payment method.

What you need to do: Please retain this document for your records. Refund processing times vary by bank or payment provider. If the funds do not appear in your account within standard processing times, please contact your bank or card issuer and provide them with this credit memo to assist in locating the transaction.

Your subscription was canceled with an outstanding balance

If you had an unpaid invoice at the time of cancellation, the credit memo is applied to balance the outstanding amount. This officially offsets the invoice so that no further payment is required.

What you need to do: No action is required on your part. The credit memo confirms that the outstanding invoice has been canceled and the balance is no longer due.

Note on Billing Periods: Your credit memo will display a specific billing cycle (for example, 2026–2027). This indicates the specific subscription period to which the credit or cancellation applies.
