Last Update: February 12, 2024

Issue

Website does not function properly after SFTP file modifications.

Solution

Follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Backup: Create a recent backup of your website’s files to prevent potential data loss.
  2. Identify the Changes: Try to remember the changes you made using SFTP. This includes:
    • Removal of a file
    • Alterations to a code
    • Renaming a directory
  3. Revert Changes: Revert the changes you made using SFTP.
    • If a file was deleted, try to recover it.
    • If a file was edited, revert it to its previous state.
  4. Consult a Developer: If the problem persists, or you’re uncertain about the changes made, consult with a web developer. They can help identify and rectify any coding or structural issues.
