This week we’re looking at Instagram, its growing potential as a marketing platform, and share how to create and use your own story stickers on Instagram to expand your own reach and business potential.
Instagram has become the New World of social media marketing. Not because of the number of users but because of their behavior.
It’s this behavior that has made Instagram a major influencer in its own right.
Over 60% of users log into Instagram daily, most of them to post stories. This makes it the second most engaged social network after Facebook.
You may recall that last week, we explained the significance of Google’s decision to favor mobile versions of websites/pages in search results, making mobile responsive design to more important than ever. Needless-to-say, Instagram, predominantly used on mobile and by adults, played a big part in this shift.
And we’re only starting to get the picture.
Reach seems to not only be easier to obtain on Instagram than on Facebook, once obtained, but it is also more valuable.
Businesses that have realized this and have already begun marketing on Instagram claim that they get up to 37% of their total impressions from Instagram Stories.
Kinsta recently pointed out that “about 60% of Instagram users say they’ve discovered new products through the app, while 72% of users say they have purchased a product they saw on the app.”
Most of the businesses we’re discussing are related to things that are visual to include web design, and…, yes, like Elementor as well.
We’ve been running our own experiments with Instagram stories. Of course, we’ve been having a lot of fun in the process, but who said that you couldn’t have fun to get results?
And, boy, did we get results.
Our Instagram account is currently at 18 thousand plus followers and rapidly growing.
Creating stickers like these allowed us to strengthen our brand identity further while expanding our creative assets. In fact, one of our stickers got over 25 million views!
But wouldn’t it be better to share the knowledge of how to similar results? After all, isn’t that what makes a community great?
We want to share how we used GIF stickers on Instagram to generate social impact so that you too can benefit from our knowledge and experience, and by following the same process, perhaps expand your following to similar numbers, if not more!
you may not be aware of the growing
mammoth like trend in Instagram
marketing but we’re sure that you know
that instagram has become a marketing
platform that we cannot ignore
especially for businesses related to
things that are visual like web design
and yes Elementor as well and we want to
share how we use gift stickers on our
Instagram to generate social impact so
that you too can benefit from our
knowledge and experience and by
following the same process perhaps
expand your following to similar numbers
if not more but first let’s backpedal of
it why Instagram marketing well consider
the fact that 80% of accounts follow at
least one business on Instagram and that
over 500 million accounts use Instagram
stories every day and all that so the
fact that Instagram is a lot of fun and
all we need to do is get creative and
document our work and lifestyle so you
can see why for us this decision was a
no-brainer but before we go on a quick
reminder to click on the subscribe
button below and tap that bell so you
don’t miss out on another masterclass
like this one
Elementor social media manager Lisa hi
Lisa
works diligently on our social feeds
from our daily blog posts to
behind-the-scenes photos of our events
around the world at wordcamp europe 2019
we wanted to document our experience in
a fun engaging and creative way so we
decided to create some unique Instagram
gift stickers that would be added to our
personal documentation of the event but
what our Instagram stickers well when
you share a photo or video to your
Instagram story Instagram lets you add
stickers to express yourself in creative
ways these stickers are superimposed
graphics that add elements of expression
to your stories adding fun excitement
and character this makes the stories
more interesting and engaging to viewers
which inevitably contributes to the
greater reach of your stories and you
can create these stickers yourself
because in this week’s master class
we’re going to show you how we do it
we’ll be covering our entire publishing
process which will include creating the
sticker uploading it to giffy and adding
the sticker to your Instagram story in
terms of things that you will need we
use an iPad and Apple pencil the
procreate app and an account on giffy
comm there are other ways to create
stickers but this is how we make them
first I’ll create our sticker for word
camp Europe it’s a really simple gift
there’s no limit on the level of
animation you can achieve with these
gifts now today we’ll be using the
Elementor logo the wordcamp europe or WC
EU logo and the @ sign or icon we’ll be
adding a link in the description of this
video to a procreate tutorial explaining
five ways to create some really cool
animations for stickers and you should
definitely check it out
open procreate by clicking on the
procreate icon tap the plus icon in the
top right hand corner to open a new file
and select a screen size to create this
gift will be using images from our image
gallery so we’ll tap on the tool icon
next to the word gallery and that opens
this menu here where we’ll tap the plus
sign then again on the insert a photo to
insert a photo from the iPad into this
procreate file select the photo you want
to use we’ll do this again to add the
second image I’d like to use to create
this gif now that I’ve done that we’ll
tap on the tool icon again but this time
we’ll select add text will add the @
symbol will tap the mouse icon in the
top menu bar
now the @ symbol is selected I have a
new menu on the bottom of the screen as
you can see we have this set to
uniformed and the blue magnet icon is
also selected so that when I move or
adjust the size of the @ symbol the size
changes in a uniform manner so it
doesn’t end up looking lopsided we’ll
eyeball the @ symbol to Center it with
the element or logo and the WCE logo but
before we continue let’s just understand
how a gif actually works a gif is an
acronym for graphics interchange format
but lately we use gifts as a way to
create short animations with multiple
images in this case we’re using multiple
layers imagine the layers being pages in
a book and flipping through those pages
quickly that’s what we’re doing in this
gif will tap the layers icon and swipe
the layer with the @ symbol to the right
which gives me the option to duplicate
we then tap hold and move one of the
identical at symbol layers in between
the elemental logo and the WC EU logo
and unselect the background color so
that the background is transparent which
is very important if you want to get
that cooled sticker effect on Instagram
now we have four layers one on top of
another and they’ll be flipped through
like the flip book we mentioned will tap
the tall icon again
then the share icon and at the bottom of
the menu will tap on animated gif the
frames per second
option allows you to choose how many
frames or layers you see per second this
controls the speed of your gif and we’ll
set our speed to two we’re happy with
the result
so we’ll tap on full resolution to
export our gift into our image library
the menu that pops up gives us our
export options and Elementor we work
with slack so we usually just send it to
our computer and then upload it to Givi
but in this case we’ll finish our gift
creation by saving it to our image
gallery to do that we’ll tap on save
image and wait export successful let’s
just check it out in our image gallery
by tapping on the home button on your
iPad and then on the photo gallery icon
and since it’s the last item we’ve
created it is the first thing we see our
very own custom made gif
okay so once we’ve created our gifts
we’ll go to our giffy account then we’ll
upload the gif and don’t forget to add
tags because your gif will actually be
available to all Instagram users and can
get a fair share of use one of our stick
has got over 25 million views the tanks
will be adding our Elementor WordPress
and WCE you and make sure that the
public option is turned on unless of
course you want to keep them a secret
for a while we’ll also need to select
the correct rating of course elements or
stickers all of them are g-rated for
great now I’m kidding but even if they
are great click upload to giffy and
we’re done once you’ve uploaded at least
a brand or artist account on giffy you
can read more about gifties requirements
for brand and artist accounts by
following the links that will attach in
the description below and in the article
that we post together with this video
now we wait
luckily we’ve heard back from goofy so
will Spain use the 1980s make up a
montage that we were going to use to
pass the time
once your brand or artist account is
approved make as many gifts as you want
and upload them keep in mind that you
will not see your gifts in the stickers
search immediately I know it’s annoying
because you want to see your art come to
life as soon as possible but you see
giffy reviews each and every gift to
make sure that they follow all their
guidelines and also look good
once giffy approves our gifts we’ll be
able to find them on Instagram and add
them to our stories like we did when we
place them on the images that we were
taking at WordCamp here are examples of
gifts we actually used now you know how
to create a gif and add it as a sticker
to Instagram creating your stickers this
way you get the added bonus of other
users using your sticker liking your new
post stickers which gets lots of views
in its own right we were really excited
to find others like Kellie akov who were
using our stickers on their own posts
and you can too in fact you can pick up
your phone right now take a photo of
anything and add it to your stories
then click the stickers button and
search for Elementor and feel free to
use whatever sticker you like our
Instagram account currently is at 18,000
plus followers and rapidly growing
creating stickers like these allowed us
to further strengthen our brand identity
