Ecommerce is growing like never before. This is an undeniable trend and one that has a direct impact on web creators.
In 2019, online sales accounted for 13.6% of sales. In 2021, that number is expected to grow to 19.5% (eMarketer).
As more brick-and-mortar stores move online, the demand for professionals who can build successful, well-designed, and highly converting online stores is growing as well.
This new release couldn’t have come at a better time, and we’re excited to introduce major improvements to our ecommerce capabilities.
Elementor’s WooCommerce Builder was launched in 2018 and has helped many web creators find a more streamlined way to build successful stores on WordPress.
Now comes the first in a series of WooCommerce expansions focused on helping you build a stellar store that drives more sales.
This release comes with two WooCommerce expansions, for the Menu Cart widget and Dynamic WooCommerce Tags.
In addition, we added AJAX load more to the Posts widget, and several other improvements to the form and playlist widgets.
Let’s deep dive into Elementor Pro 3.4.
Menu Cart Widget
Add to CUSTOM-DESIGNED Cart
Want to help your customer get more sales? What better way to start than the Menu Cart!
The menu cart is one of the most influential parts of any ecommerce website, which is why we decided to expand and improve the Menu Cart widget. Now you’ll be able to style and customize your WooCommerce cart, as well as add a Mini-Cart layout to the cart widget.
New layout and style options
Change and adjust your cart’s style and layout without adding a single line of code. Alter the cart’s background color, choose the typography you want for the subtotal section, edit the icon’s positioning when the cart closes, and much more.
New cart type: Mini Cart
Under the Menu Cart widget, you’ll find the new mini-cart layout. The Mini Cart is a floating cart that can be added anywhere on your WooCommerce website. This layout creates a more intuitive and uninterrupted shopping experience for your users, allowing easy access to the cart, the option to remove products, and the ability to keep track of the subtotal without leaving the page.
Better store experience
We’ve made a few changes to improve the user experience of this widget:
- Added the possibility to open the cart automatically after the item is added. This allows users to follow a cart summary at all times, enabling a smooth shopping experience.
- Included an AJAX shopping cart functionality that can prevent pages from loading again after removing a product from the cart.
- Allowed for user to open the menu cart by click or by hover.
Dynamic WooCommerce Tags
Feature Dynamic Product Elements Anywhere on Your Website
Place your product anywhere you want
Dynamic WooCommerce Tags refer to the content that can be drawn from the product and changed dynamically according to the product it’s on. With the current enhancement, you can use WooCommerce Dynamic Tags to place product elements anywhere on your website. You can have the product presented, for example, on your home page, inside a hero image, or even on a dedicated landing page. Product dynamic tags range from price, rating, and sale status, to description, SKU, stock, image, terms, and title.
Change the product, and the update applies across your website
This new dynamic possibility means that the changes you make to the product’s values will reflect everywhere else the product is present. Once you change the product’s price, description, or other detail, it will change everywhere else, whether it appears on the product page itself, the hero section, landing page, or elsewhere.
AJAX Load More
Infinite Scrolling and Load More Functionality for Posts
Showcasing content on your website is more necessary now than ever. However, there is a point where too much content and not enough space causes users to stop scrolling and leave your website. AJAX Load More is the ultimate design technique to display large amounts of content intuitively and appealingly. Now you can use AJAX load more on the Posts widget.
In this version you’ll find two new pagination types to load more content — either by loading on click or enabling infinite scroll.
Infinite scroll is a web design technique that loads content continuously as the user scrolls down a page. You can also load more posts by clicking on a button to allow better user control.
We are working on enabling this feature for Posts Archive and other widgets, so stay tuned!
Grow your sales and conversions with the new Menu Cart and Dynamic WooCommerce Tags capabilities.
Form & Video Playlist Improvements
Extending Your Favorite Widgets
We continually work on improving our Editor by updating, adjusting, and boosting the existing widgets and features you already have in use.
In the version, we improved the MailChimp integration for the Form widget:
- Double opt-in now works smoothly
- User groups load more efficiently
- We implemented more informative error messages for administrators
- We resolved several other integration issues
MailChimp is one of the most popular integrations Elementor offers, and we were able to make all these improvements thanks to feedback from web creators around the world. Our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped improve this integration. Keep sending us your valuable feedback!
We also added the ability to embed Vimeo videos in the Playlist widget. The major benefit of Vimeo in comparison to YouTube is the fact that the website visitors don’t see related videos at the end of each video, and you have a better chance of maintaining them on your site.
What's Next
The Menu Cart and Dynamic Tags are precursors to further improvements we plan to make to Elementor’s WooCommerce integration. There is a growing need among web creators for a better way of building ecommerce websites on WordPress, and are working hard on making those changes.
In addition, this version has focused on improving existing features in Elementor. We are committed to not only develop new features, but also optimizing and improving existing ones. You have a huge hand in letting us know which features ought to be expanded or improved, so a huge thanks goes out to everyone who sends us feedback and feature requests and helps make Elementor a better, more robust solution.
