What’s off-topic and what’s not? What to do when it is?
Turns out it’s impossible to draw a clear line in the sand about this issue. We ask that common sense be applied in this grey area. Remember why members are here; to help each other learn Elementor and help each other to solve challenges.
Below, you’ll find some off-topic examples and some possible answers. Please keep in mind:
- Adjust these using your own words where needed. It’s always you who is replying.
- Close comments, only remove if the member is breaking the group rules.
- When you refer members to sources outside the group, try to keep them within the Elementor Ecosystem, like our Blog, Documentation, YouTube Channels, Github, Elementor Experts and other sources of information we offer.
Speed: member asks how to improve site speed (same for SEO, Plugin, etc..)
Hi @name, please keep in mind this group is for users learning Elementor. If you want to learn more about site speed, try these two tutorials https://elemn.to/speed1 and https://elemn.to/speed2. I’m closing comments on this post. Feel free to comment below the Blog Posts I mentioned, though.
Also see section “Useful links” further on in this manual.
Self-promotion: obvious
Remove post. Facebook will offer you the choice to let the member know what they did wrong, select the appropriate rule and checkmark it so they get a notification, thus warning the member. If it goes beyond someone boasting (like posting an affiliate link) simply block the user with all options Facebook offers you right after choosing that option.
Self-promotion: less obvious
Hi @name, I understand your need to promote your services, please do so here: https://elemn.to/Experts. This group is for users learning Elementor. Read the https://elemn.to/ExpertsFAQ and https://elemn.to/ExpertsKnowlegdebase if you need help.
Proceed to close comments and activate post-approval.
Self-promotion: even less obvious, member offers a solution but only if you PM them
Please share your solution openly @name; this way, no one will think you’re fishing for a job and, more importantly, others will benefit from your wisdom. Thank you in advance!
What to do with posts that link to pages with affiliate links?
In plain English: Must be helpful without clicking. Must warn if about Affiliate links if applicable.
In more detail: As repeated throughout these documents, our group has a strong focus on helping each other learn Elementor and finding answers to how-to questions. That second part can often be used and/or abused to sneak in purely commercially driven goals like making money off affiliate links or blatant self-promotion. Please briefly run the following through your mind when you encounter these.
- The post must be related to Elementor. Either by discussing specific features of the editor, third party plugins with obvious Elementor Support or anything else that is clearly Elementor related. It’s a vastly grey area, please apply common sense.
- The solution or helpful information must be in the post. A link to more in-depth information may be provided if further reading or viewing actually provides added value.
- The post must add “contains affiliate links” right after the URL. In any and all cases where this is applicable.
What to do when warning or blocking?

Blocking
