How to Host and Organize an Event

Setting an Agenda

For your first event, you can choose a specific topic (See Content best practices) or form a general discussion – by inviting the group members to share their needs and expectations from the meetups.

When setting the agenda:

  • Write a descriptive title.
  • Be clear about what members can expect in the meetup.
  • Introduce the speaker in the event description (if applicable).

A meetup can be:

  • Lecture
  • Networking event
  • Workshop
  • Hackathon
  • Roundtable event
  • Panel
  • Or anything you can think of, It’s entirely up to you!

Finding Speakers

  • Reach out to your community, and let them know they are invited to share their experience and knowledge with the local community.
  • Collaborate with local experts from various related fields.
  • Connect with fellow Elementor Leaders (attend online). Here you can find their expertise (and share yours).

Finding A Venue  (For in-person events)

  • Collaborate with local businesses, agencies, Co-working spaces, etc.  The key to finding a good collaboration is to create a win-win situation for the venue and for the meetup group.
  • Public libraries or spaces that offer space for small businesses or entrepreneurs.
  • Reach out to your community; people tend to help people they know.
  • Consult with local meetup organizers in your area to find out how they secure a venue.

Sponsorship is applicable for Venue & refreshments. For any other case, please contact us. See Program Terms for more information.

Set A Date and Time

If possible, ask the meetup members which days and times of the week they prefer. Set a permanent day to help members plan schedules ahead of time. (For example Every last Wednesday of the month, at 6 PM).

We recommend planning the meetup at least 4 weeks ahead, to make sure you have enough time to promote the meetup, and for members to add it to their schedule.

Promoting The Event

  • To promote the meetup locally, we recommend that you share the event on your social media channels, as well. When sharing, please tag @elementor for Twitter and Instagram stories and #Elementor for FB;  this way, we can share your posts on our social media.
  • Share the event with local groups of web professionals with shared interests. (WordPress, web designers and developers, marketers, etc.)

Please note – we cannot guarantee the promotion of meetups submitted less than 21 days before they take place.
