Community Leaders program terms

Leader Program Terms (Last Updated:  Dec 2020)

In plain English: creating awareness to prevent everyone involved from messing things up for any other, and what to do if things go south.

These Elementor Community Leader Program Guidelines (“Leader Guidelines”) are a part of Elementor’s terms of service (“Terms”), and the Terms and Leader Guidelines shall apply to anyone who becomes a Leader. They are meant to represent the policies we already set out to our leaders, and incorporate a codex based on past interactions.

We will first discuss who can be a leader, and how a leader is verified; then we will go on to detail their rights and responsibilities.

Not everyone can be a leader; and we need to make sure that you, as a potential applicant, understand that we can certify and de-certify you at any time and for any reason.

Who Can Apply to Be A Leader?

In plain English: any volunteer enthusiastic about helping others with Elementor and is willing to abide by the rules we’ve set to protect all involved- can be a Leader!

Anyone can apply to be a leader; regardless of level of expertise or technical background. However, in order to be one of Elementor leaders, you adhere to our Eligibility Terms and lead a specific community dedicated to the Elementor Platform, products or services group or community effort.

A Community Leader is a person who volunteers and is subsequently chosen by us to organize and lead community Activities and initiatives such as meetups, online groups, translations, and any other case where Elementor is the focal point of your community..

By applying to the Leaders Program, you declare that you have the right, authority and capacity to abide by all of our legal documents.

In addition, you also declare that you are at least 18 years of age, an Elementor user and you have never been convicted of a felony.

Our Community and The Leaders’ Activities

In plain English: community leaders help empower Elementor users, find answers to ‘how-to’ questions and connect with each other community members

Our Leader community is made up of volunteers from all over the world who are Elementor web professionals.

Elementor users interact offline and online via various channels to share, guide, learn from and inspire one another as Web Creators (the “Activities”). The Leaders are the persons who perform the Activities.

We may promote these Activities by announcing or listing them via different channels, including via third party websites and using our resources.

We may, but have no obligation to, provide you with certain promotional digital or physical assets (“Swag”) for use or distribution at the Activity. We may halt the provision of Swag at any time, at our sole discretion.

As a Leader, you may use our logo in connection with the Activity, provided that such usage is in accordance with our Trademark Guidelines. We reserve the right to withdraw this permission at any time and for any reason.

Unless notified otherwise, you may use the title of “Elementor Community Leader” on your website, brand, CV and any other personal stage which you own; and only according to our Trademark Guidelines.

What You Shouldn’t Do As a Leader

In plain English: you cannot abuse your role as a Community Leader to put your personal needs above those of Community Members or Elementor as a Company.

Don’t do anything in the Activities or when promoting them which is, or may be::

  • Unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
  • Infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party;
  • Collecting or storing personally identifiable data about other members of the community unless you have the express consent of the member and it relates to the purposes of the Meetups and the Activities.

In addition, as a leader, you expressly acknowledge that:

  • You will not promote information that is false or misleading.
  • You will not host activities at private residences to ensure the personal safety of both leaders and members.
  • You will not publicize or promote commercial activities and/or sales unless this brings value to the community and relates to the purposes of the Activities and Elementor. If you are not sure about it, please consult your Community Lead first.
  • Sponsorship is allowed ONLY when it brings relevant value to the members. If you are not sure about it, please consult your Community Lead first.
  • You will not express or imply that we endorse any statements you make without our specific prior written consent.
  • You will not have any hidden agenda except contributing to the Elementor community.
  • You will not act as an employee, partner, consultant, or provide any services to a person or a company that may be in competition with Elementor, while acting as an Elementor Community Leader.
  • You will not disclose any information received, directly or indirectly, from any of Elementor’s employees without Elementor’s prior consent unless expressly stated by us.

We reserve the right to investigate and request that you cancel your Activity if you have behaved in a way which could be regarded as inappropriate or have engaged in conduct that is unlawful or illegal. The above list is only a partial list and we may add to the list at our sole discretion.

Affiliates

In plain English: do not abuse your role as Elementor Community Leader for personal gain and/or to gain an unfair advantage

In general, we do not approve affiliates as Leaders. If we do approve you as a Community Leader and you are a participant in our affiliate program,  you must act under your name and you acknowledge that you may not, under no circumstances, use the official community channels to promote any affiliate account, or to generate any profits.

Your Relationship With Elementor

In plain English: Please prevent people from thinking you work or speak on behalf of the Elementor Company

You explicitly acknowledge that you are acting as an individual, and not as our agent, employee,  an independent contractor, or a consultant. You understand that you have no authority, expressed or implied, to commit or obligate us in any manner whatsoever. Nothing in these guidelines contains any type of employment or business relationship of any kind.

Also, you acknowledge that your involvement as a Leader will be a contribution to our community and under no circumstances expect wages, salary, or benefits from us for the services provided within these guidelines.

Content Usage

In plain English: if you share your own content in the community, you are giving permission to other Community Members to reuse it (with credit)

You agree that, in addition to the provisions set forth in the Terms, any material submitted by you in relation to an Activity may be used by the community.

By sharing anything with the community, you’re automatically giving permission for anyone to reuse it. If the content is created by someone other than you, you need to give credit to the original creator.

Your Responsibilities

In plain English: you will always be responsible for your own actions

We are not responsible for your conduct, whether online or offline.

Please remember that we do not know you, nor our other community members. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members. Therefore, we make no representations or warranties as to the conduct of our community members. We reserve the right to investigate, screen, or take any action that we deem appropriate while using available public records.

We are not responsible for you with respect to any Activity. In no event shall we or any of our officers, directors or employees be liable for any damages whatsoever, whether direct, indirect, general, special, compensatory, consequential, and/or incidental, arising out of or relating to the Activity or your conduct or anyone else’s behavior at or in connection with the Activity, including, without limitation, bodily injury, emotional distress, and/or any other damages resulting from communications or meetings with other members. You agree to take reasonable precautions in all interactions with other community members and/or any other participants in the Activities.

Term and Termination

In plain English: we can remove you from the program at any time and at our own discretion

These Leader Guidelines will remain in full legal force and effect as long as we have a Leader program, and shall govern any Activity.

We can cancel any Activity and terminate these terms and conditions at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately.

All decisions regarding the cancellation of an Activity shall be made at our sole discretion. We are not required to provide you notice prior to deregistering an Activity or otherwise terminate this agreement.
