users navigate your website more easily
and improves the SEO score and
readability of your website structure
for Google search engine it’s also vital
for accessibility now let’s dig in drag
it into the column the content tab will
be our first stop and the site map click
the pages item the type allows you to
choose between post type and taxonomy
the source option lets you choose the
source from which the widget will
display the content the source options
for post type are posts or pages and for
taxonomy we can choose between
categories tags or format we will choose
post type and pages we can change the
title and author by gives us four
options date title menu order and random
let’s set it to date now set the order
choose between ascending or descending
slide the hierarchical view to show
child pages you can also set the depth
let’s create a third item and name it
speakers set its type to taxonomy and
the source to tags previous conferences
type is set a taxonomy and the source to
categories when choosing the taxonomy
type a new option appears hide empty
this allows us to hide empty posts or
categories we can easily change the
number of columns from 1 to 6
let’s choose 3 now open the additional
options we can exclude the current post
and also choose the manual selection to
remove a specific post or page from our
sitemap start typing its name click on
it and it’s gone currently it only works
on post types by switching avoid
duplicates to yes
you avoid duplicate posts from showing
up in the sitemap by switching protected
posts to hide you can make sure that any
posts or pages that are
password-protected won’t show up in the
sitemap either great now let’s go to the
style tab and the list we can set the
indent as you can see this only affects
the sitemap links and the padding you
can set the padding for the sitemap
items this affects the whole column
including the titles I’ll set it to 20
pixels and the title and list item we
can set the color and typography
settings and a bullet we can customize
the color and style we can choose from
round round outline full square or even
remove them completely that’s it we’re
