After a visitor submits a form, there are several ways to follow-up. One is to send them an acknowledgement email. These emails are set up using the Actions After Submit<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[callout type=”note”]When a user submits a form, two email notifications are often sent: one to the user as confirmation and one to you or your team. However, these emails may end up in the spam folder, especially now that providers like Gmail are increasingly strict about email reputation and authentication. To address this, we recommend using a tool like Site Mailer<\/a>. By routing all site emails through a dedicated external service rather than your hosting server, Site Mailer significantly improves deliverability and ensures your messages reach their intended destination.[\/callout]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Email visitors after form submission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To email visitors after they submit a form<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Create a form. For more details, see Form widget<\/a>.

  2. Expand the Actions After Submit<\/strong> section.

    In the Add Actions field, Collect Submissions <\/strong>and Email <\/strong>are default actions. There is no need to change them.
    \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click the + <\/strong>sign.
    \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. From the dropdown list, select Email 2<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Open the Email 2<\/strong> field.

  6. Fill in the fields that appear. For more details see, Receive form submissions by email<\/a>.

  7. In the To<\/strong> field, enter the shortcode: [field id=”email”]<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Fill in the rest of the fields. Keep in mind that this email will be sent to the visitor. See Example of an HTML email<\/strong> below. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Using HTML allows you to style the body of emails sent to visitors who fill out a form.Following is an example how to create these emails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Anything in brackets ([]) is a shortcode. Shortcodes will take information from the form and use it in your email. For example, the shortcode [field id=”name”]<\/strong> will use the information from the Name field of the form. In order to use this shortcode, you must have a First Name<\/strong> field in your form, with shortcode [field id=\u201dfirst_name\u201d], as described below.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
