New Elementor websites use containers for page layout. For more information, see What is a Flexbox Container?<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there are a large number of existing websites built using sections for layout and web creators who prefer to continue working with sections. These users can deactivate containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To deactivate containers<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. From the WordPress dashboard, go to Elementor>Settings>Features<\/strong>. For more details, see What are Elementor experimental features?<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. \u00a0Locate the Container feature.
    \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Inactive<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. In the confirmation prompt that appears, click Deactivate<\/strong>.
    \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    What happens when I deactivate Flexbox containers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    If your site was built with sections <\/strong><\/td>Your site content is not affected.<\/td><\/tr>
    If your site was built with both sections and containers <\/strong><\/td>The content built with containers will not appear. If you choose to reactivate containers, you will be able to access the content. (See below).
    Note<\/strong>, <\/strong>if you create new content with sections and save <\/strong>your site while Flexbox containers are inactive, content created with containers will be lost.<\/td><\/tr>
    If your site was built with only containers or both sections and containers, and you deactivated and reactivated containers without changing content.<\/strong><\/td>Your site content is not affected.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Access container content after deactivating containers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If you created content using containers and then deactivated containers, you are still able to access the content created with containers, even if you created new content using sections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    [redwarning]These steps will work if you published <\/strong>pages while sections were active, if you saved <\/strong>pages while sections were active, the content created with containers will be lost. [\/redwarning]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To access content created with containers<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Reactivate Flexbox containers. For more details about activating features, see Elementor experimental features<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Open the page where you created the content with containers.
      \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Click the Elementor logo in the upper left corner.
      \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Click History<\/strong>.
      \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Click Revisions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Click the version of the page containing the content you want to access.

    7. Click Apply<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      The content created with containers appears on the page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      [redwarning]Applying a revision will delete any content added after <\/em>this revision. For example, on Thursday Alex reactivated a page with containers that was created on Monday.
