The Hello Theme is designed to give web creators maximum flexibility with their website designs while boosting website speed. This means reducing the theme\u2019s code to a minimum. While the default settings do indeed make the Hello Theme light, users can customize the settings to create an even lighter theme that will further improve site performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Customizing the theme settings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
To customize the theme settings:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
From WP Admin, navigate to Hello>Settings<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
All settings are active by default. To disable specific settings, toggle off the settings per your needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Click Save Settings<\/strong> at the bottom of the window to save your settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Disable description meta tag<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The description metatag helps search engines find and categorize your webpages, and helps social media platforms create a preview of your webpages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Search engines and social media platforms use the scanned page metadata to extract the title, description and featured image. While WordPress generates tags for the title and featured image, it doesn\u2019t do so for the page description. To improve search engine visibility, the Hello theme adds its own description metatag. However, when using additional SEO plugins, this may create duplicate description meta tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disable skip link<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The Hello Theme has a \u201cSkip to content\u201d link to improve accessibility by providing a quick way to bypass the header, sidebar and other elements, directly to the main content of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<a class=”skip-link screen-reader-text” href=”#content”> Skip to content <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cSkip to content\u201d link only appears for visitors who are using their keyboard to navigate your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
[callout type=”tip”]Disable the theme\u2019s skip link by turning this setting off when using an accessibility plugin which adds an alternative skip link solution.[\/callout]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Hello Theme includes a header section (wrapped in a <header><\/code> element) and a footer section (wrapped in a <footer><\/code> element). This removes the default header and footer from every page as well as their associated CSS\/JS files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This feature is mainly useful for websites that look for minimal themes, and need a basic header & footer. It\u2019s not very flexible but it does the job in most cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Disabling this feature prevents the theme from loading the HTML markup associated with the theme and the additional CSS and JS files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
[callout type=”tip”]Disable the theme\u2019s header & footer by switching this setting off if you want to create your own custom header & footer using the Elementor Pro Theme Builder.[\/callout]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Disable page title<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The Hello Theme includes the page\/post title as an h1<\/code> (level 1 heading) above the content area. If you use Elementor to add a custom h1<\/code> element, this can lead to SEO issues due to having multiple H1s on a page. Toggle this setting off to avoid this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
[callout type=”tip”]Disable the theme\u2019s page titles by switching this setting off when adding your own h1<\/code> headings to your page using Elementor.[\/callout]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This settings turns off CSS reset rules by disabling the theme\u2019s reset stylesheet. CSS reset rules make sure your website looks the same in different browsers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
[callout type=”tip”]Deregistering reset.css can make your website load faster. Disable it only if you\u2019re using another style reset method, such as with a child theme.[\/callout]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Hello Theme adds different stylesheets. The theme.css<\/code> stylesheet contains the CSS rules required by WordPress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
[callout type=”tip”]Switch this setting off, unregistering the theme.min.css<\/code> stylesheet, when you need to create a child theme with custom style rules. For example, if you style your own comments area and form fields.
