Creating an Elementor hosted website is your first step on the road to success. Now it\u2019s time to attach a great name to your beautiful site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to do this, you will first need to make some changes to the DNS records of your domain name. This document will walk you through the steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connect your domain to your Elementor hosted website<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Go to your My Elementor dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click the website card of the site you want to connect.
    \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click Connect domain<\/strong>.
    \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. In the popup window, enter the custom domain name you purchased and click Let\u2019s begin<\/strong>. Use the domain name without <\/strong>www in front of it. 
    \"\"
    By default, the system uses the name you entered as the primary domain and will connect the name with www in front of it. (e.g. mysite.com<\/em> will be the primary domain, and www.mysite.com<\/em> will also be connected.)
    Note: Domain connection can take up to 48 hours
    <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Edit the domain name settings with your provider<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. Open a new tab in your browser, and if you haven\u2019t already, sign into your Bluehost account<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Once signed in, go back to the Elementor tab and click I signed in, what\u2019s next? <\/strong>
      \"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Add the DNS records<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      1. Go back to the Bluehost tab and click My domains.<\/strong>
        \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Find the domain you wish to use for your Elementor hosted website.
        \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Click Manage<\/strong>.
        \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Now that you\u2019ve found your domain settings, go back to the Elementor tab, and click Found it, what\u2019s next?<\/strong>
        \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Go back to the Bluehost tab, and click the DNS <\/strong>tab to access the DNS records.
        \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      6. Once you\u2019ve located the records, go back to the Elementor tab and click Found them, what\u2019s next?<\/strong>

        You can now access the A record and CNAME of your Elementor hosted website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      7. In the Update your DNS records<\/strong> section, under A record and\/or CNAME value, click the copy icon to copy the A record and\/or CNAME from the Elementor tab.
        \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      8. Go back to the Bluehost tab and paste in the A record or CNAME as detailed below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Add an A record<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        Important:<\/strong> If your domain DNS records have an AAAA (IPv6) record set, you\u2019ll need to delete it because IPv6 isn\u2019t compatible with Elementor hosted websites yet..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The DNS Management<\/strong> page is where you create an A record for your domain. If your domain already has an A record set to \u201cParked\u201d or another address, you need to delete it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        1. Locate the A Record section and click Add a Record<\/strong>.
          \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Enter \u201c@\u201d in the Host Record<\/strong> field.
          \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. In the Points To <\/strong>field, paste in the A record value of your Elementor hosted website. This is the value you copied from the Elementor tab.
          \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. In the TTL <\/strong>field, use the dropdown menu to select \u201c4 Hours (min)\u201d.
          \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        5. Click Save<\/strong>.
          \"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Use a CNAME record for the www address<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          To direct the \u201cwww\u201d address to your Elementor hosted website, you need to create a CNAME record with the host name set to \u201cwww\u201d. You may  already have a CNAME record for the \u201cwww\u201d address set to your domain. If you do, you can leave this as-is. If you don\u2019t have a \u201cwww\u201d address in your list, you  need to add it from the DNS Management<\/strong> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          To add a \u201cwww\u201d address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          1. Locate the CNAME section and click Add a Record<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Enter \u201cwww\u201d in the Host Record<\/strong> field.
            \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. In the Points To <\/strong>field, paste in the A record value of your Elementor hosted website. This is the value you copied from the Elementor tab.
            \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          4. In the TTL <\/strong>field, use the dropdown menu to select \u201c4 Hours (min)\u201d.
            \"\"<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          5. Click Save<\/strong>.
            \"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            [callout type=”warning”]CAA records specify which certificate authorities have permission to certify your domain. You do not have to specify a CAA but if you have added any CAA records, you must have Cloudflare listed as a CAA.             Alternative CNAME method<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            You can also point your domain to your Elementor hosted account by adding a CNAME record that points your domain to your Elementor hosted website domain. For example, if your domain name is example.com<\/em> and your Elementor website is example.elementor.cloud<\/em>, create a CNAME record with example.com that points to example.elementor.cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Finishing up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            1. Go back to the Elementor tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Click I updated my records. Connect my domain<\/strong>.

              So, what\u2019s next?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

              1. Wait for the DNS changes to propagate (this can take up to 48 hours).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              2. We\u2019ll issue an SSL certificate for your website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              3. When your domain is ready, we\u2019ll notify you by email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\t\t
