{"id":275,"date":"2020-04-19T11:00:35","date_gmt":"2020-04-19T11:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementor.com\/help\/?p=275"},"modified":"2026-01-20T14:13:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T12:13:08","slug":"what-is-safe-mode","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elementor.com\/help\/what-is-safe-mode\/","title":{"rendered":"Activate Safe Mode"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Issue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are unable to edit because of the Elementor Loading page, you can troubleshoot the problem by enabling Elementor\u2019s <strong>Safe Mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[callout type=&#8221;warning&#8221;]You should always back up your site before enabling safe mode.[\/callout]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Enable Safe Mode\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0mMcjYf5dBQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Safe Mode?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Safe Mode isolates Elementor and WordPress from the themes and plugins that may be causing the error. It:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>helps identify any issue that interferes with Elementor loading. In most cases, loading issues are caused by conflicts between plugins or themes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>lets you verify if the problem persists even after deactivating plugins and themes, and pinpoint the possible cause of the issue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The only thing that changes when <strong>Safe Mode<\/strong> is enabled is that the Elementor Editor loading is done without any activated Plugins or Themes. Enabling Safe Mode also temporarily deactivates all Elementor Experiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using <strong>Safe Mode<\/strong> opens the Elementor Editor on a clean version of WordPress, without loading a theme or any plugins.
