The Transfer Lock <\/strong>helps protect your domain from unauthorized transfers or changes. When this lock is enabled, your domain cannot be moved to another registrar or hosting provider until you unlock it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why this matters:<\/strong>
<\/strong> Keeping the transfer lock on<\/strong> prevents someone from transferring your domain away without permission and is an important security feature that helps protect your ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should only turn off the lock<\/strong> if you\u2019re planning to transfer your domain to another registrar or provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Lock or Unlock Your Domain<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Note: <\/strong>You can\u2019t lock your domain during the first 60 days of purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to your Domains dashboard<\/strong> in My Elementor<\/a>.

  2. Click on the domain you want to manage to open its Domain Overview<\/strong> page.

  3. Scroll to the Transfer lock<\/strong> section.

  4. Use the toggle switch<\/strong> on the right to turn the lock on or off<\/strong>.

    • Blue (on)<\/strong>: The domain is locked and secure.

    • Gray (off)<\/strong>: The domain is unlocked and can be transferred.

      Getting Your Authorization Code<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      If you plan to transfer your domain elsewhere:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Turn the transfer lock off<\/strong>.
        <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Click Get authorization code<\/strong> to reveal and copy the code.
        <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Provide that code to your new registrar during the transfer process.
