{"id":918,"date":"2020-11-12T16:20:42","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T16:20:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elementor.com\/community\/?p=918"},"modified":"2022-12-21T17:15:45","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T15:15:45","slug":"how-to-host-and-organize-an-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elementor.com\/community\/how-to-host-and-organize-an-event\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Host and Organize an Event"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Setting an Agenda<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For your first event, you can choose a specific topic (See <a href=\"https:\/\/elementor.com\/community\/2020\/11\/09\/content-best-practacies\/\">Content best practices<\/a>) or form a general discussion &#8211; by inviting the group members to share their needs and expectations from the meetups.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When setting the agenda:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Write a descriptive title.<\/li><li>Be clear about what members can expect in the meetup.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Introduce the speaker in the event description (if applicable).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A meetup can be:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lecture<\/li><li>Networking event<\/li><li>Workshop<\/li><li>Hackathon<\/li><li>Roundtable event<\/li><li>Panel<\/li><li>Or anything you can think of, It\u2019s entirely up to you!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Finding Speakers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Reach out to your community, and let them know they are invited to share their experience and knowledge with the local community.<\/li><li>Collaborate with local experts from various related fields.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Connect with fellow Elementor Leaders (attend online).<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1BvSf4hofQzQC6ovC4brMgg_BdwGRvogHfDx4uHioWrc\/edit\"> Here <\/a>you can find their expertise (and share yours).&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Finding A Venue<\/strong>&nbsp; (For in-person events)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Collaborate with local businesses, agencies, Co-working spaces, etc.&nbsp; The key to finding a good collaboration is to create a win-win situation for the venue and for the meetup group.<\/li><li>Public libraries or spaces that offer space for small businesses or entrepreneurs.<\/li><li>Reach out to your community; people tend to help people they know.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Consult with local meetup organizers in your area to find out how they secure a venue.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sponsorship is applicable for Venue &amp; refreshments. Set a permanent day to help members plan schedules ahead of time. When sharing, please tag @elementor for Twitter and Instagram stories and #Elementor for FB;\u00a0 this way, we can share your posts on our social media.\u00a0<\/li><li>Share the event with local groups of web professionals with shared interests.
