Make sure to register for a free account to access the configuration options. However, the free version no longer allows testing for mobile devices.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.webpagetest.org\/\">WebPageTest<\/a> &#8211; the most configurable speed test tool. Great for testing different scenarios. However, the interface is a bit dated. You can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.machmetrics.com\/\">MachMetrics<\/a> to run automated daily tests.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/speed\/pagespeed\/insights\/\">Google PageSpeed Insights<\/a> &#8211; includes synthetic test data from Lighthouse as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/speed\/docs\/insights\/v5\/about#crux\">real-world performance data from Google<\/a> (though real-world data is only available if your site has enough traffic).<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/web\/tools\/lighthouse\">Lighthouse<\/a> &#8211; an open-source tool for analyzing web performance. Google PageSpeed Insights is based on Lighthouse, or you can also run Lighthouse from Chrome developer tools or <a href=\"https:\/\/web.dev\/measure\/\">web.dev<\/a>.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/tools.pingdom.com\/\">Pingdom Tools<\/a> &#8211; the free tool lacks configuration options. However, the interface is well-designed. Also offers a paid Real User Monitoring service, as mentioned above.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uptrends.com\/tools\/website-speed-test\">Uptrends<\/a> &#8211; a well-designed tool that supports all the important configuration options.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fastorslow.com\/\">Fast or Slow<\/a> &#8211; an excellent tool for assessing global load times from Wordfence. In one test, it runs tests from 18 different countries.<\/li><\/ul><p>You don&#8217;t have to stick to a single tool &#8211; each option can be useful in certain situations.
