CalOPPA\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9900bc5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9900bc5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) was enacted to protect the privacy rights and \u201cpersonally identifiable information\u201d of California residents.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Accordingly, any website based in California or getting traffic from California residents must comply with CalOPPA.<\/strong><\/p><p>In addition to having a privacy policy, a site must protect users\u2019 &#8220;personally identifiable information,\u201d including:<\/p><ul><li>First and last name<\/li><li>Physical address<\/li><li>Email address<\/li><li>Telephone number<\/li><li>Social Security number<\/li><li>Any other contact information whether physical or virtual<\/li><li>Birthday<\/li><li>Details of physical appearance such as height, weight, and hair color<\/li><li>Any other information that may identify an individual<\/li><\/ul><p>To comply with CalOPPA, a site\u2019s privacy policy must:<\/p><ul><li>State specifically what information is collected and stored;<\/li><li>Disclose the identity of third parties sharing that information;<\/li><li>Explain how users can change their information on your site<\/li><li>How users receive updates to the site\u2019s privacy policy;<\/li><li>The date of the last update to the privacy policy.<\/li><\/ul><p>Under CalOPPA, a privacy policy must also explain how users can make a Do Not Track request. This means that the content on your website must be accessible to all, including those with hearing or visual impairments.<\/p><p>Any website belonging to a business with at least 15 employees that is open more than 20 weeks a year is <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.findlaw.com\/free_enterprise\/2013\/07\/does-your-business-have-to-comply-with-the-ada.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">required to comply with the ADA<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a8fb465 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"a8fb465\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Notable ADA Lawsuits Involving Websites\n<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5554fc6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5554fc6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>There have been several notable lawsuits filed against businesses with websites that were not ADA-compliant.
